dest.frequentlyAskedQuestions
Can I combine a Tanzania safari with Zanzibar?
Absolutely — the classic Tanzania trip is 5-7 days on safari (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire) followed by 3-5 days on Zanzibar. Short flights connect Arusha to Zanzibar in 1 hour. This combination is one of the world's best travel itineraries.
How hard is it to climb Kilimanjaro?
Kilimanjaro requires no technical climbing skills but is a serious high-altitude trek. The Marangu route (5-6 days) is the most popular. The Lemosho route (7-8 days) has better acclimatisation and higher success rates. Fitness and altitude preparation are essential.
When is the best time for the Serengeti?
June to October is the dry season — excellent game viewing and the river crossings of the Great Migration. January to February is calving season in the southern Serengeti — thousands of wildebeest calves born daily. Both periods are outstanding.
Is Zanzibar good for snorkelling?
Zanzibar has excellent snorkelling and diving — Mnemba Atoll is one of East Africa's best dive sites. The best visibility is June to October. Nungwi and Kendwa on the north coast have the calmest water. Dolphins can be seen at Kizimkazi.
